Problem of the week: Pushy Pushy

5 hours= 300 mins                    0.9 x 70= 63
5x60=300                                0.10 x 300= 30

63 + 30= 93

Since it takes 70 minutes to cut 90% of the lawn with a powerful motor and 5 hours with the push motor. I turned 5 hours into minutes because it would have been easier, then I multiplied the percent with the time, then we add the time it took for 90%, with the time it took for 10% and got my answer.

Art Review

I choose this picture,
In the picture there are two people walking in the rain in the park and one of them are holding an umbrella, this artwork looks familiar to me because when i watched a movie, and this scene was also in that movie with two people walking in the rain, in the park. What made this artwork stand out the most is because of how its colourful and the pictures details looks great with the glossy water on the ground, the reflection in the water, and the light. I think that the artist's goal was to get people's attention and their goal might also be that they wanted to make a masterpiece. The artist might also wanted to show what's happening with the different colours he put for the leaves of the tree.

Problem of the Week: Tunnel Vision

When the entire train enters the tunnel there are 2000 metres left to travel (3000-1000=2000). The engine has to travel in 30 seconds. We could find the speed by dividing the distance travelled by the time it travelled.
The speed of the train is 2000/ 30 =2000/3 m/s.
All we have left is that we need to convert m/s to km/h
1. 2000m/3s x 1km/15s
2. 1km/15s x 60s/1min = 240 km/h
In the first one we are converting metres to kilometres,
In the second one we are converting seconds to minutes,
The answer is 240 km/h

Journal Response

If I were a superhero, I'd be...

     Jean Grey (Phoenix) Jean Grey is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men. Jean Grey has been known under the aliases Marvel Girl, Phoenix, and Dark Phoenix. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in "The X-Men #1 (September 1963).

   Jean Grey is a great superhero I would want to be Jean Grey because of her powers and her characteristics.

Intelligence = 100%
Durability= 100%
Power = 100%
Strength = 80%
Combat = 70%
Speed = 67%

 She can also carry 220, 000 pounds of weight, for a female superhero she is really powerful.

My Eyes Drawing

Here's a link to my Video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3WblQY7vhLI

This is my Eyes drawing, we had many steps to follow inorder to make a successful eye.
 First, you will need to draw the outline of the eyes, then you will need to draw the pupils and you have to make sure they are round or else it won't look realistic because in real life the eyes pupils are a perfect circle. Next, you will need to draw the eyelashes. Later when you are done you need to shade in the pupils and draw the eyebrows for you eyes.

For me the hardest part of the eyes was when I needed to draw the eyelashes because I wanted them to look perfect.

Ted Talk

This is the Ted Talk I choose:
 How I fell in love with quasars and our incredible universe
https://www.ted.com/talks/jedidah_isler_how_i_fell_in_love_with_quasars_blazars_and_our_incredible_universe

Jedidah Isler is a Astrophysics and she studies blazars (really big black holes that produce and discharge
powerful jet streams. They are the Universe's most efficient particle accelerators, transferring energy
throughout galaxies.) Jedidah Isler has been staring at the stars sine she was 11 or 12. But because neither of her undergraduate college or University where she got her first master's degree offered astronomy majors, she threw herself wholeheartedly into physics. It wasn't until she entered a doctoral program that
she was able to dedicate her time to study the night sky. In 2014, she was the first African-American
woman to receive a Ph.D in Astronomy from Yale.
